The following table depicts the widespread geographical nature of the Global Witnessing Challenge.
I
ndividual countries are assigned a specific "Grade" reflecting "degrees of difficulty" of witnessing as a result of factors such as economic status, freedom of Christian expression, ease of access and transportation, infrastructure and utilities, etc. Grade 1 represents the "easiest" environment in which to gain access throughout the country for witnessing, and Grade 4 the harshest conditions for witnessing. These gradings are relevant later in the calculation of teams' bonus points.
There are 4 "Divisions", or groupings of countries (A Div. to D Div.) from which each team must select one. Depending on how much time is available to each team, and how adventurous they want to be, they can select a grouping consisting of 42, 31, 21 or 10 countries to visit on their travels. Regardless of division chosen, all continents will be reached for Christ.
As a minimum, the following 10 countries are common to all 4 divisions: USA, Canada, UK, India, Russia, China, Brazil, Israel, Australia and South Africa.
Teams may also chose between "either/or" combinations of countries, as highlighted in colour in the table below.

Key: * * * * represent interchangeable country options (i.e. either / or choices, but not both)
Interpretation of the above table:
The following illustrations will help to explain how the Challenge works:
- Every participating team must choose one of the above Divisions (or pools) of global regions: A, B, C or D Divisions, represented by the 4 last columns in the table above
- The continent of Asia is broadly comprised of 3 regions: Russia, India and any other 3 countries of participants' choice in that regional bloc. Teams entered in D Div will visit both Russia and India (as these are compulsory countries and common to all Div's). This is represented by an asterisk * next to each of these countries' names in the table above, under the column 'D Div'. Teams entered in C Div will be required, in addition to Russia and India, to visit one other country in Asia (represented by the 1* in the C Div column). Teams entered in B Div will be required to visit two countries in Asia (represented by the 2* in the B Div column). And teams entered in A Div will be required to meet the "all three countries" requirement in Asia (represented by the * in the A Div column)
- The area of Western Europe is comprised of the United Kingdom (participants to visit at least 2 of: England/Scotland/Wales/Ireland) plus any other 3 countries of participants' choice in that region. Teams entered in D Div only need to visit the UK (represented by an asterisk * in that column). If entered in C Div teams will also need to visit, in addition to the UK, one other country in W. Europe (represented by 1* in that column). Teams entered in B Div must visit 2 other countries in W. Europe (represented by 2* in that column). It follows then that teams entered in A Div must visit all 3 other countries in W. Europe (as represented by the * in that column)
- Teams entered in B Div have the option of choosing between visiting EITHER 1 country in Central America OR 1 island in the Caribbean, represented by the yellow highlighting which indicates an "either/or" choice. Similarly, if entered in A Div, a team may choose between visiting any 2 countries in C. America OR any 2 islands in the Caribbean (but not both)
- The continent of Africa is broadly comprised of 3 regions: West Africa (i.e. the bulge of Africa), Sub-Saharan Africa (i.e. Central and Southern Africa) and the country of South Africa itself. Teams entered in D Div will only visit South Africa (which is common to all other Div's). Teams entered in C Div will, in addition, visit EITHER 2 countries from W. Africa OR 2 countries from Sub-Saharan Africa (but not both), as represented by the blue highliting in the table above. However if entered in B Div, teams will have to visit 2 countries from BOTH W. Africa AND Sub-Saharan Africa (as represented by the 2* in that column). Notice that there is no "either/or" highlighting in this B Div column. Teams entered in A Div will visit any 3 countries of their choice in both regions (as represented by the * in that column)
- Teams may only visit an Arab country if entered in A Div
- The area of "any 2 sovereign islands" in the table above has a wide coverage, and includes any island with sovereign nationality status as recognised by the United Nations, eg. Fiji, Vanuatu, Seychelles, Mauritius.
