TEAM REGISTRATION PROCESS AND PARTICIPATION TERMS & CONDITIONS

travel_setEach team member must apply online through the official Challenge web site to participate. All applications will then be vetted, supporting documents compiled and, where necessary, referees will be contacted for verification of details.  Once processed, applicants will be notified of the success or otherwise of their applications.

Notification will be provided as soon as all information has been satisfactorily furnished, on a first-come-first-served basis, to enable teams to plan their itineraries well in advance and to commence raising financial sponsorship at the earliest opportunity.  Notification to the last applicants must be completed at the latest by 28 February 2010, at least one month prior to the commencement of the Challenge.


 

Teams must accept the following terms and conditions of entry:

  1. teams shall comprise people whose personal views and beliefs, as captured in the online questionnaire (see Registration form), line up substantially with the Challenge’s Statement of Faith; all participants shall be practising believers and followers of Jesus Christ
  2. participants unconditionally and unreservedly agree that the principal motivation for their application is to be soul winners for Christ, and to be obedient (literally) to the mandate given to believers in Matthew 28:19-20 and Mark 16:15
  3. participants will conduct themselves as though committing everything they do before the Lord.  As such they agree to bring glory, honor and praise to God through their actions while participating in the Challenge, and to bring spiritual light into the spiritual darkness.  They will not bring the name of the Lord nor the reputation of this Challenge into disrepute, and may at short notice be disqualified from the Challenge for substantiated claims of serious contraventions of this policy
  4. each team is to comprise of no more or less than 2 persons, both of whom must be 18 years or older as at 31 March 2010.  No exceptions to this rule
  5. both participants in each team must have both a valid and a current international passport that does not expire before 1 September 2010
  6. each participant is responsible for obtaining and paying for their own visas, vaccination requirements and travel insurances
  7. COMPULSORY: each participant must obtain and pay for an international medical and travel insurance policy (valid for dates between 1 April – 31 August 2010 inclusive), proof of which must be supplied and received by 28 February 2010, before acceptance of entry will be granted
  8. each participant must have no known reason, physically, legally or otherwise, why they cannot travel to each of the countries named in the Divisional list that their team has applied to visit
  9. IMPORTANT: each  participant must be physically and psychologically fit and willing to withstand the rigors of constant travel, walking long distances, carrying heavy packs, experiencing all forms of outdoor weather and potentially going without rest, sleep, showers, food and water for extended periods
  10. participants must be cleared by their doctor or health specialist (at their own cost) as being fit enough to undertake this Challenge.  Original health certificates (or letters) must be furnished by applicants and received by 28 February 2010 before acceptance of entry will be granted.  If any medical complications occur since the time such certificate was issued, and prior to commencing the Challenge itself, participants are required to notify the organisers prior to embarking
  11. all participants are responsible for raising their own financial support to complete the Challenge, including transportation, food and accommodation costs where necessary
  12. all applications must be submitted online through this official Challenge web site only
  13. the deadline for application online is midnight 28 February 2010 (US Pacific time)
  14. all participants must supply 3 suitable (but non-related) referees with full contact details
  15. applications must be accompanied by faxed or scanned copies of participants’ passports, plus one other official identifying document (eg. birth certificate, drivers licence, social security ID) plus a recent photograph (preferably a digital image).  These must all be submitted and received by 28 February 2010 before acceptance of entry will be granted
  16. teams provide permission for all blogs, video clips and other testimonial evidence submitted online to the official Challenge web site to be displayed on the site until 31 March 2011, and grant permission to the organisers to use any selected material they have submitted to be used for promotional purposes, using any electronic or print media, for up to 5 years from the end of this Challenge
  17. the organisers of the Challenge may correspond as many times as necessary with participants to ensure all requirements for participation are met.  It is the responsibility of all participants to supply (and update) their direct contact details on their member profile on the web site, and to co-operate timely with Challenge requests for information.  Participants shall also regularly check back with the Message Boards, FAQ's and Blogs to keep themselves informed as to latest development and requirements.  It shall be assumed that each participant has done this prior to embarking on their journey
  18. all participants accept that they fully participate in their own personal and private capacities, and have no legal authority, express or implied, to bind the organisers or sponsors of the Challenge in any contractual arrangement or obligation with any third party, and will not hold themselves out as representatives (voluntarily or otherwise) of these entities
  19. as such, participants agree to be independently responsible for meeting their own needs (including medical, transport and insurances), defraying their own expenses, fulfilling their own legal and financial obligations, respecting and abiding by the laws and customs of the countries visited, without recourse to physical or financial support or subsequent compensation from the organisers or sponsors of the Challenge
  20. the organisers of the Challenge reserve the right to terminate membership registration and to refuse entry to any individuals and/or teams for breaches of any of the above terms.  Its decision will be final
