Our Statement of Faith

The following statements represent our personal Christian beliefs:
We believe that there is only one God who exists simultaneously as God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and God the Holy Spirit - We believe that God is the Creator of the universe and everything in it, exactly as described in the book of Genesis; that all creation exists before our eyes as a testimony to the invisible character of God, namely, His power, sovereignty and divinity
- We believe that the Bible is the only inspired, infallible and authoritative written Word of God through which He makes Himself and His plans for this world more clearly and fully known to man, so that man is without excuse
- We believe that man was created in the image of God and was given authority and responsibility to rule over creation for the praise and delight of his Maker
- We believe that man, through unbelief and disobedience, is lost in sin and death and is therefore separated from God, having within himself and all human endeavours no possible means of salvation and reconciliation to God the Father without Christ
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, death on the cross, bodily resurrection and ascension into heaven, to whom God the Father has given all power and authority to redeem and reconcile the world to Himself - We believe in salvation (eternal redemption of the soul) only by grace (undeserved favour and forgiveness) through faith in Jesus Christ alone; that salvation is the free gift of God, not by any inherent virtue or good works of man, but received once and for all time by repentance and a declaration of personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone
- We believe that Jesus Christ is just the same today as He was in the past history of the world, and just as He will be for all eternity to come, so that His standards do not change or become diluted with time or passing generations (or latest fads and the like)
- All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Jesus Christ: it cannot therefore be shared with any other god or spirit, this is an impossibility or else the Bible - the Word of God - is a liar and every Christian is thereby thoroughly deceived
We believe in the Great Commission in which our Lord Jesus Himself commanded us to go out into the world and make disciples of people from all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and commanding them to obey all His teachings (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-16) - We believe the Church comprises of all born again believers, each equipped with special gifts as God has appointed so that the whole body of Christ may be built up and brought together in unity, commissioned to share with all nations the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ
- We believe in the indwelling and work of the Holy Spirit in the believer, including the manifestation and outworking through the believer of His spiritual gifts
- We believe in the second coming of Christ, the eternal existence of the soul, the eternal blessing of believers, and the eternal punishment of unbelievers (yes, there is such a thing as an eternity in hell for those who have not called on the name of our Saviour and asked for His forgiveness)
We solemnly, and without fear of guilt or man, testify before God the Father that the above statements represent our own personal Christian beliefs, hopes and aspirations. What we do we do to exalt God through our actions and our life, realising that it is not we who live for ourselves alone, but God who lives in us.
The same God who, through His sovereign plan for mankind, has a will and purpose for us in our lives. The one and only righteous God who has the right to judge all mankind, and who alone has the power of eternal life and death over their souls.
